General application conditions for Teachers
- Active Teacher status at the sending institution: full-time and part-time lecturers can apply.
- The aim of teaching mobility is primarily educational activity, which may be accompanied by research, conference participation, but it is important that only conference participation, networking visits, research activities cannot be supported within the framework of the program!
- Citizen of a CEEPUS country or have a residence permit in Hungary.
- Citizens of non-CEEPUS countries can apply by uploading an "Equal Status" document (for example, residence permit or employment contract/certificate of teaching status at the institution in the sending CEEPUS country).
- Applicants can not travel to a country that is the same as their citizenship or place of habitual residence.
- A PhD degree is required for mobility to Austria.
- Applicants can not receive any other scholarship during the scholarship period (exclusion of double funding).
- Any other conditions imposed by the sending and receiving institutions.
- Support from the Pázmány network/partner coordinator, in case of Freemover mobility, the letter of acceptance from the host institution.
IMPORTANT! From the 2025/2026 academic year, staff mobility is also possible within the framework of the CEEPUS Program, also for university staff without teacher status. For more information, please see the Types of Mobility section.
Types of mobility
1. Teaching mobility - Teacher (T, TE, TV)
- Duration: technically 1 month, the minimum stay is 5 working days (during which at least 6 teaching hours and/or consultations are mandatory), maximum 10 months.
- Working language: English
- The online application must indicate the educational plan (title of the lectures, seminars to be held, number of hours, content, credit value, possibly date, target group), in case of missing education plan, the application will be invalid.
- The motivation section must indicate what added value it represents for the host institution? Have you agreed with the host department or coordinator on the number of planned hours and their topic?
- If the lecturer plans the mobility outside the academic period, the motivation must detail how the teaching/consulting activity will be implemented.
- In the event that a teacher submits an application more than 6 times within an academic year, the National Office may reject the mobility applications, both outgoing and incoming, even if the application is valid.
- Important! If the teacher does not meet the required minimum stay period and/or the required number of teaching hours, the grant must be paid back.
- Types:
- Teacher (T): normal mobility, minimum 5 days and 6 teaching hours
- Teacher Extended (TE) the mobility exceeds 10 days - minimum 10 days and 12 teaching hours.
- Teacher Virtual (TV): only conected with a physical mobility: minimum 5 days and 6 teachinf hours.
2. Network meeting - Short Term Network meeting (NWM)
- Duration: 1-3 days
- For network (professional) coordinators.
- Applications can be submitted within a Network.
- min. 50% of the participating units must be represented at the Network meeting.
3. Staff mobility - Short term University Staff Mobility (US)
- Duration: 2-5 days.
- Available for also university staff not having a teacher status at the insitution.
- For example for librarians, International Office staff, administrative staff, researchers.
- The purpose of the mobility: gaining experience and/or developing skills related to the work of the given network; mobility may be accompanied by research or participation in conferences, but this cannot be the sole purpose!
- Applications can be submitted only within a Network.

An employee can participate in a maximum of 2 mobilities per year.
4. Intensive course /summer school participation -Short-Term Intensive Course (IC)
- Duration: min 6 days.
- Participation at intensive course or summer school organized by partner institution(s).
- Applications can be submitted within a Network or as a Freemover.
Submitting the application
The application must always be submitted in English via the central online application interface (www.ceepus.info).
IMPORTANT! In the case of an application within the network, your application must first be submitted directly to the Faculty International Office. The Faculty Foreign Affairs Committee will make a decision on the assessment of the application. Details and application conditions can be found in the Calls for Applications menu. If the application is positively evaluated, it is necessary to register on the central CEEPUS website, where the application form must be filled out in English.
In the case of freemover mobility, the sending institution does not issue a specific call for applications, the application must be submitted directly on the central online application system (www.ceepus.info) in English. However, if you have any questions, you can also contact the faculty or institutional CEEPUS coordinator at the contact details provided on the website.
Application path
- In the case of network mobility, the professional coordinator of the PPKE accepts and nominates the application to the Hungarian National Office. In the case of freemover mobility, the application is immediately sent to the Hungarian National Office.
- If the Hungarian National Office accepts the application, it nominates it to the Host country. In the case of a network application, the Host institution and the Host National Office evaluate the application, and in the case of freemover mobility, only the Host National Office evaluates the application.
- After the application has been accepted by all parties, it will be given the status 'Awarded', about which the system will send a notification.
- The applicant can accept the scholarship online by pressing the "Accept" button. This step must be taken, as only after this can the scholarship be paid. The applicant will receive the scholarship from the Host institution.
- The Host National Office issues the Letter of Award document certifying the scholarship status and sends it to the applicant and the Host institution.
- ATTENTION! Cancellation of the trip or change of date is only possible in justified cases. The CEEPUS coordinator of the sending and receiving institutions must be informed as soon as possible of any changes affecting the scholarship.
Scholarship amount
The awarded participants receive the CEEPUS grant from the Host Institution.
